Since February 2024 Solana’s crypto bridges recorded 114% more traffic that hit $10.1 billion total inbound volume. Regionals from Flipside Analytics show that billions entered the network in November 2024 through January 2025 to grow Solana’s bridge system.
USD Coin leads Solana bridge traffic having brought $3.9 billion into the platform and sent $4.7 billion from it. After USDC Ether holds position two at $2 billion transfer volume while Solana stands as rank three at $1.5 billion inbound and $1 billion outbound transactions.
Solana Bridge Activity Surges
Wormhole remains Solana’s dominant bridge solution because it processed $7.3 billion worth of transactions since launch. The platform lost its position to deBridge who gained momentum during this period. DeBridge seized market control from Wormhole by achieving 12% higher weekly volumes when their bridge services opened for Solana networks in February 2025.
The data from DefiLlama shows Solana bridges recorded minimal activity during the initial ten months of 2024. Bridge activity soared during the last three months of the year. In November 2024 the bridge processed $1.1 billion in transactions afterward the total went up to $2.5 billion in December then $3.2 billion in January 2025 reaching over $6 billion in three months.
The bridge network growth on Solana remains slower compared to the bridge volume on Ethereum. During November 2024 through January 2025 Ethereum bridges completed nearly forty times more transactions at $38 billion than Solana bridges did. Bridge deposits on Ethereum reached $5.1 billion even though it handled lower traffic than usual in April resulting in a bridge total higher than any month SOL achieved.
Bridge activity on SOL shows people are more interested in using the network to move assets back and forth. Its future competition with Ethereum remains doubtful because market trends and user preferences may change over time.
