Real-World Assets (RWA) have gained immense traction in 2025. Data actually shows that the sector is now facing significant growth in the fourth quarter (Q4) of the year. The total RWA value, for instance, has reached a new all-time high above $29 billion. 

Following the recent surge in RWA onchain value, Sergey Nazarov, the co-founder of Chainlink, has projected that this sector could even surpass the crypto market in value in future. Furthermore, the surge also sparks fresh attention across RWA tokens. 

RWA Spikes to $29B, Reaching a New All-Time High 

Lately, institutions have been flooding the RWA tokenization sector, as these assets find their way onchain. As per reports, based on this interest the total RWA onchain value has surged to $29,241,384,869 ($29.24B), for the first time in history.  

Tokenized private credit leads the way contributing $16.71 billion to the total RWA value. This accounts for more than half of the market value. US treasury debt continues $7.41 billion, commodities contribute $2 billion while institutional alternative funds account for $1.81. 

Other assets including stocks, non-US government debt, corporate bonds and actively managed strategies account for $568.59 million, $360.69 million, $262.16 million and $87.37 million, respectively. 

This surge in the value of these assets is majorly contributed by strong institutional demand. CryptoRus observed that “institutions are flooding in – tokenized private credit, US Treasurys & more” thus contributing to RWA onchain value growth. 

RWA Tokens Jump as Onchain Value Reaches New ATH

The recent surge in real-world assets onchain value has also put RWA tokens into the spotlight. According to data by Coingecko, the market cap of RWA coins has surged by 2.7% to $68.37 billion over the last 24 hours. Additionally, the trading volume over the same period has surged to $3.29 billion.

Amid the broader real-world assets market surge, top RWA tokens have surged. Chainlink (LINK), which is the largest RWA coin by market cap, has surged by 2.8% and is currently trading at $24.27. 

The price of Figure Heloc (FIGR_HELOC), on the other hand, sits at $1.04, marking a 4.4% jump. Stellar (XLM) and Ondo Finance’s token ONDO have also surged by 1.4% and 6.4% respectively. The surge in Ondo has left the token ranking as the top trending token amongst RWA coins. This surge comes just a few days after Ondo Finance launched its Global Markets trading platform with over one-hundred tokenized US stocks and ETFs. 

With Wall Street and BlackRock now backing tokenization, the RWA sector could even continue to grow further. Blockchains such as Chainlink could benefit from this support, which could further serve as a major boost for the price of LINK. 

Sergey Nazarov Predicts RWA Could Surpass Crypto Market’s Value

Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov, has predicted that the value of real-world assets could topple that of the crypto market in future. His prediction stems from the recent surge in total RWA value. Speaking at a recent event, the Chainlink co-founder said;

“Personally, I believe that the real-world asset trend in the real-world asset category will relatively soon in the next few years overcome the total value of cryptocurrencies.”

Once this happens, Sergey Nazarov believes that the crypto industry will then not be about cryptocurrencies. Instead, it will be about blockchain technology enabling things like real-world assets.
