Daimler AG Joins Hyperledger Blockchain Consortium as Premier Member

Hyperledger Project, a collaborative cross-industry effort created to advance Blockchain technology, announced today Daimler AG has joined the project as a Premier member. Daimler’s focus is on future-oriented topics and continuing to systematically optimize its core business and as such the company is investing in Blockchain technology. As part of their Premier membership, Jonas von Malottki, Head of the Department for Finance and Controlling IT Solutions within the Daimler IT Group Functions will represent the company on the Hyperledger Governing Board.

I’m looking forward to the contributions and skills Daimler’s team brings to the project.”

Hyperledger aims to create common distributed ledger technology that enables organizations to build and run robust, industry-specific applications, platforms and hardware systems to support their individual business transactions. The project has grown to more than 115 members since its inception, spanning various industries including finance, healthcare, the Internet of Things, credit card services and aeronautics, among several others.

Now is the right time to get into it, build up knowledge and form a network of like-minded people to share experiences,” said Jan Brecht, CIO, Daimler AG. “By joining Hyperledger, we are confident to do the right step towards this direction.”
